Canon: Star Fox
Canon Point: post-Star Fox 64
Is your character Dead, Undead or Alive: super alive

History: some wiki 4 u

Personality:
Fox was very close to his father, James, especially having been raised solely by him. His death left a huge impact on Fox, grief hit him and it hit him hard. As a result, he dropped out of the Cornerian flight academy and basically shut himself off to the rest of the world for a while. It took some time, but thanks to Peppy's support, Fox was able to pull himself out of his depression and move on. While he hasn't completely gotten over losing his father, he's come to terms with it and uses it as motivation to become a stronger person.
When you suddenly become orphaned at a young age, you're kind of forced to grow up faster than you usually would. After shaking off his depression, Fox stepped up and jumped right into his dad's shoes, intent on rebuilding the Star Fox team. Taking on an endeavor like that meant he'd have to put the whole teenager thing behind him, if he wanted to succeed. He carries himself more like a middle aged man than an 18 year old almost-but-not-quite-there-yet boy becoming a man. Because of this, he doesn't always connect too well with his peers.

Out of everyone Fox interacts with, those that he's really close to are generally the only ones that see anything besides a "serious business time" attitude out of him. He has a fierce sense of loyalty, his friends and teammates are more important to him than anything. He will do anything and everything in his power to protect them, or pull them out of a dangerous situation.

Even with close friends, he doesn't like to be too open about his feelings or emotions or anything, preferring to "suffer in silence", so to speak. Peppy's probably one of the very few people he's ever actually that open with, as he more or less views him as a father figure. Not so much Slippy. Definitely not Falco.

He is perfectly capable of being civil to his enemies, even during combat. He's not much of a grudge holder (Unless your name happens to be Pigma), and he usually doesn't engage in trash talk. He's no merciless killer, but he won't hesitate to mow down anything in his path, so long as it's posing a direct threat to him or his team. Fox has zero tolerance for traitors, and with good reason, considering what happened with his father being betrayed by a trusted teammate. He isn't the sort of person who is quick to anger, but betrayal is easily one of his triggers.

To people he's not familiar with, or just acquaintances with, or hell, basically anyone that's not a really close friend, Fox carries himself in a mature, respectable manner. He's polite and speaks clearly, and may even come across as downright boring in some situations. The more he gets to know someone, the more he'll open up and seem less like a constantly serious stick in the mud. It may take him a little while to really trust someone thanks to past experiences (aka traitor pig guy getting his dad killed), even if he seems to have warmed up to them.

The motivation of any mercenary is pretty much the same: DOLLA BILLZ Y'ALL. Money for food, supplies, repairs, upgrades, paying off debts, what have you. Money is important and your ass won't get anywhere without it. For Fox, it goes deeper than just earning a fat reward at the end of a mission. He has a genuine desire to help people and often goes out of his way to do so regardless of whether or not a reward is involved, although he may complain that he's not being paid enough to do so. Fox is a good guy at heart, and, although he probably wouldn't say it, his desire to be someone that his father can be proud of is a big influence on the way he handles his work (hell, it's half the reason he took over the "family business" in the first place), and the way he lives his life in general.

Besides the occasional "am I being as good a leader as I can be", Fox doesn't have many problems with confidence. He's a good pilot, and he knows it. As a result, he's been known to get a bit cocky during battle, though he's good about not letting it interfere with the over all mission. He's not the sort that likes to brag, and if he did he'd be more likely to brag about his team as a whole rather than go on and on about himself anyway. So while he has a healthy ego, he's good about keeping it in check.

Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses:

Fox has a knack for piloting things. Space ships, tanks, submarines; you name it, he can make it go. He's had limited martial arts training likely thanks to his time in the academy, and he's also rather good at making things explode. Also he's a fox. Has his own fur coat and everything. That's not really an ability is it. Guns n'shit though, he knows how to use them puppies.

He's still in the learning stage as far as leadership goes, but he's done well enough with it so far. He has a natural talent for rallying people up to go do ridiculous shit that could potentially get them killed, apparently. Despite his inexperience and young age, he lead a team of only four people (well technically five if you count the robot) across an entire galaxy and nuked the big bad. He's generally confident and able to make quick decisions should a situation call for it.

Actually some of Fox's strengths totally double as weaknesses. He's stubborn to a fault, especially if there are lives to be saved. He's a big dumb boyscout and won't hesitate to put his own life in danger if it means saving someone else. Not bad things, but when one's focus should probably be on survival, also not great things. He's also nursing some serious trust issues, especially after what happened to his father.

Prose Log Sample: (SO recycled from an old app. A super old app. STILL COUNTS.)

In the blink of an eye, Fox had gone from fighting on planet Venom to standing in the middle of a crowded room, which he soon discovered was on a huge, unfamiliar space station. Needless to say, it was disorienting. Where the hell was his team? Why didn't Peppy, Slippy, or Falco arrive here with him? How could his team and his flagship simply vanish in an instant, much less the whole planet? Sure, that crazed scientist Andross had it out for the whole galaxy, but hadn't Fox just beaten him? Or had Fox gone down with Andross' base when he self destructed it? Maybe, but then it wouldn't explain him being here.

And that wasn't the only thing bugging him. Fox's communication device hadn't worked since arriving on the Thor. He had no way to get in touch with his flagship, the Great Fox. No way to tell his team where he was or to find out where the hell they were. This "guide" or whatever he'd been given was apparently also used an a communication device of some sort. It was easy for him to figure out the basics, and it seemed like it had a lot of useful information on it, but it still wouldn't help him contact his team.

Needless to say, Fox was pretty pissed off, but nobody would answer any of his questions until he filled out the proper forms. Having gotten used to dealing with paperwork thanks to taking commissions from the Cornarian Army, Fox was no stranger to this sort of thing. He'd just never seen so much of it before, and given the circumstances, he hardly had the patience for it. When Fox had finally fought his way through that mountain of paperwork, the ugly alien...Vogon, or whatever it had called itself told him that his "little airplane or whatever" was in the hangar. That was it, no word on his team, no explanation as to why he was even here in the first place. Not without filling out more paperwork, and he wasn't about to do any more of that shit.

Considering he didn't have any real leads or explanations, he figured he'd at least check on the condition of his Arwing. With an irritated flick of his tail, he left the new arrival's office and set out to find the hangar. With any luck, it would at least be in a good enough condition to fly.
